Hassidic Ministry

Last week a co-worker and I went to Williamsburg, Brooklyn to a Hassidic neighborhood.  We went to the 21st floor of this building working our way down knocking on every door that had a meh·zoo'·zeh  (Jewish religious article put on the doorpost of homes).  If no one answered we left a Yiddish tract with Isaiah 53 which has a phone number for those who may want more information about Jesus.

This photo was taken in the Subway Station of the F Train on our way to Washington Square Park to hand-out Gospel Broadsides.  It is always striking to see these "Old World" people in urban settings.

Taken from our vehicle as we were about to leave Williamsburg.

Have you heard about this
book by Rabbi Shmuley Boteach?

The Jewish community is very upset at the publication of Rabbi Boteach's latest writing.  However, this book is a great evangelism tool for us.  Last week we sat in an Israeli restaurant on 34th St.  We put a copy of the book on our table hoping to engage someone in a conversation about Jesus.  And we did!  The Israeli owner of the restaurant said, "He (Rabbi Boteach) eats here."  We engaged in a 10 minute conversation about the identity of Messiah.  Please pray that  Eli will investigate the Hebrew Scriptures for himself.  He told us, "I wait for the Rabbis to tell me who Messiah is".
